CS: GO — is a popular eSports discipline with regular tournaments. As a result of these tournaments, some teams show great play and win, while others are eliminated early. The state of the esports scene in 2021 is such that by the middle of the year there was one definite leader of the entire scene – the Natus Vincere team. However, within the framework of this rating, we will pay not only attention to the team that won all the latest tournaments and won the Intel Grand Slam, but also to 9 more teams that have earned their place in the top ten teams before the upcoming Major.
First of all, it should be noted that the first 10 teams looks weak as never before, which is largely due to the lack of decent competition. Now each fan will name the strongest team — Natus Vincere, as well as the Gambit team, which is not so far behind them at this stage of the season. There are also the French guys from Vitality, led by the best player of the last two years, ZyWoo, but they do not add up the same overall impression. The rest of the teams do not even have such stability or strength, which does not allow them to be singled out as worthy competitors. Perhaps this was due to the transitional stage of the season, when many teams decided not to gain maximum shape and played in a relaxed manner, and at the upcoming Major tournament everything should change dramatically. As of October 2021, the top ten teams will look like this.
1. Natus Vincere
At the moment, there is no doubt that it is the Natus Vincere team that is the strongest at the moment. The victory at Starladder CIS RMR 2021 turned out to be a warm-up, and after that the team produced a striking streak of three victories in a row, during which they managed to become champions of the prestigious IEM Cologne 2021 and ESL Pro League 14.
The victory in these two tournaments allowed the CIS team to become 3- her team in history, which managed to get the Intel Grand Slam and $ 1 million in gold bars. These victories also guaranteed them participation in the Winter Blast finals, which, however, did not prevent them from winning the BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2021 qualifying tournament. Kostylev’s s1mple will be considered the main favorite to win. It seems that now the team has finally managed to find the perfect fusion between tactics, shooting and team understanding, which allows them to win in the most difficult rounds.
The second place in the rating is occupied by another CIS team, which in the first months of the year confidently occupied the first line.
After winning the IEM Summer and Blast Premier Spring Final 2021, the team of Abai H0bbit Khasenov lost a little, which is why they failed at the main summer tournaments, such as IEM Cologne 2021 and ESL Pro League 14, taking 5-8 places in each of them. However, representatives of the team noted that this was the most important experience that should help them achieve colossal success in the near future. These words began to be justified at subsequent tournaments. Now the team looks like the second strongest contender for victory in the major, having all the necessary experience, as well as an incredible sh1ro.
When mentioning the strongest teams as of the fall of 2021, one cannot fail to mention the French team Vitality.
The team of the best player of the last two years, Zywoo, has not shown loud victories, however, the team’s results cannot be called a failure at all. After failures in the spring, when the team was eliminated in the first rounds, the team was able to reach the final of ESL Pro League 14, where it lost 2: 3 to the Natus Vincere team with irrepressible s1mple and b1t. Then the team confidently qualified for Blast and is now approaching the main tournament of the year as one of the serious contenders.
For a long time, the Heroic team was considered the only worthy opponent for the CIS-team Gambit.
However, the subsequent scandals with the coach, the gradual return to LAN tournaments and the rapid recruitment of other teams’ form pushed the Danes seriously back. They continue to demonstrate confident play, but at the moment they do not have the stability that they had before. However, this did not stop them from becoming the team that was closest to stopping Na’Vi from getting the Intel Grand Slam back in the ESL Pro League 14 semifinals.
The team of Niko NiKo Kovacs was rapidly preparing to break into the very top of the rating, for which the team planned to win all tournaments, but at the decisive moment it constantly lacks something.
Many are beginning to think that this European mix will not be able to win at S-rank tournaments until they find themselves a strong main sniper. However, even without him, the team shows an excellent game, which resulted in the 2nd place at IEM Cologne 2021, where they were beaten only by the invincible Natus Vincere. However, this 2nd place is still the only significant achievement of G2.
The Ninjas in Pajamas team is trying to find the optimal team, diluting the Swedish talents with such experienced stage masters as the four-time Major tournament winner Nikolai dev1ce Ridtz.
The first results of the team could hardly be called worthy, because at the main tournaments of the summer the team could not climb higher than 5-8 places, but subsequent results went up. The team confidently qualified for BLAST, after which it was able to take 1st place at IEM Fall 2021 Europe. This inspires some optimism and confidence in the team ahead of the main tournament of the year.
7. Faze Clan
Faze Clan, led by Finn Andersen, is not stable enough to gain a higher rank.
Nevertheless, it is the experience of the Danish captain that allows the international squad to win decisive matches and reach the quarterfinals and semi-finals of the tournaments. The team has everything it needs to win, namely a fusion of experienced players, as well as young stars in the form of Twistzz and broky, but so far the team has not been able to find a balance in the game that would allow it to achieve stable results.
OG should have become a real revelation of the rating back in the spring, because by that time they already had sufficient experience in joint performances, as well as all others so important for domination — an experienced captain and strong shooters.
However, the team’s game lacks some zest, since often the AleksiB team is not able to offer anything other than the shooting of individual performers. However, it should be noted that the guys shot at ESL Pro League 14, where they were able to reach the semifinals, which can be regarded as an extremely important result.
9. Virtus Pro
Virtus Pro is another CIS team in our rating. The Russian team showed excellent results at the end of last year, when they managed to win at Flaspoint and summit.
Fans expected that the team would be able to break into the top positions of the rating, however, this was followed by not the most confident performance, which ultimately led to a replacement in the team. Now, ahead of the major tournament, the team announced the replacement of SANJI, which many considered the weakest link, with Flit. It is not known how the replacement will affect the team as a whole, but practice shows that in the short term, the replacement can seriously strengthen the team, which will allow them to reach high positions in the upcoming Major.
The four-time Major winner should never be discounted.
The year 2021 was a real shock for all fans of the Danes, as their sniper left them, after which the team’s results began to deteriorate very much, and the team tried to find various ways to change the structure of their game. Does not add confidence in the team and constant rumors about further changes in the composition with the involvement of young people and the departure of legends.
However, there is no doubt that Lucas Rossander will be able to find the right words before the main tournament of the year, besides, an experienced captain knows firsthand what it takes to win it.
